CORDÓN: J. Jackson Street., Montevideo

Colonial building in excellent location:

The three floor house with basement was built in 1920 (approximately) in the neighborhood "Cordón". It has a ground of 141 m² and a constructed area of 564 m². Important avenues, as well as several national authorities, registers, banks and the national university are located nearby.

The building still retains elements of time, like the high ceilings, the floors of slash pine wood and pottery, as well as the doors of cedar. On its roof there are 4 skylights, which illuminates part of the second floor and the stairway of the main entrance. Each floor and the basement has an independent entrance and an area of 141 m²:
  • A large business room with two toilettes and an internal access to the basement (currently used as storage area) is located on the ground-floor, which also counts with a garage for two cars,
  • First and second floor are identical. Each of them has five rooms (three with balcony), two bathrooms, a kitchen with before-kitchen and partially mezzanine levels.
Although it is in good condition, the building requires a modernization. Municipal regulations permits adding one or two floors up to a maximum height of 27 meters or the construction of a new one. Special tax benefits are granted for housing projects of social interest in this area, which is also attractive for offices or hostels for students.
